Lansinoh Lanolin Cream 56g Lansinoh is the world's purest lanolin and has been specifically developed for the treatment of sore and cracked nipples aiding with positioning and attachment which is often the cause of sore or cracked nipples. Lansinoh HPA Lanolin has received the endorsement of the British Allergy Foundation by being awarded its Seal of Approval. This confirms that Lansinoh HPA Lanolin is suitable for allergy sufferers as it has been scientifically proven to reduce exposure to allergens. With clean hands soften a small amount of Lansinoh between fingers and apply to entire nipple area after each feeding or as needed. Lansinoh lanolin does not have to be removed prior to breastfeeding.For your comfort and to help protect sensitive nipples you may also apply Lansinoh before showering. Lansinoh should be used in conjunction with addressing the cause of the soreness. If soreness does not start to ease within 24 hours of commencing use of Lansinoh, or if the problem persists, the user should contact a Lactation Consultant, Breastfeeding Counsellor or their Health Care Professional. Lansinoh lanolin used by itself is not a treatment for sore nipples caused by thrush (Candida albicans) or a bacterial infection. Lansinoh Latch Assist In the early days after birth, mothers may experience engorgement or swollen breasts, a temporary condition that can make breastfeeding difficult and uncomfortable. A mother can also find that her skin has stretched so much that her nipples, which would normally be protruding, may be flat. Flat nipples may make it difficult for your baby to breastfeed easily. If your baby is unable to get a flat nipple positioned correctly in his mouth he may not receive as much breastmilk, despite his best efforts. In these circumstances it is important for you to be able to gently draw out your nipple so that your baby can properly grasp the nipple and areola in order to establish a good latch. For women who experience flat nipples, Lansinoh has developed the LatchAssist, a simple tool to temporarily draw out the nipple to enable a good latch - the first step to successful breastfeeding. Directions For Use Before use, wash LatchAssist in hot, soapy water. Rinse and air dry. Gently squeeze bulb and place the shield over and around your nipple. Lightly press the shield down against the skin to ensure an airtight seal. Slowly release the bulb for the desired pressure. Repeat gently until your nipple is extended and your baby can easily latch on to the breast. After use, wash again, rinse and air dry Discard any milk that may collect in the bulb. Have your baby positioned for breastfeeding and then use the LatchAssist as directed. This will enable your baby to latch on to your breast as soon as your nipple is drawn out. Small and convenient, the LatchAssist comes with a case so that you can have it with you wherever you are, whenever you may need to draw out your nipple for a better latch. Please note that for hygiene reasons the LatchAssist is a single user product.
